Blizzard of 2009

If you grew up somewhere where snow comes each winter, you can probably pinpoint the year when a big blizzard blew threw. I remember the storm of '96 when we were out of a school for a whole week due to several feet of snow. While I know Emma Kate and Jackson won't remember it, they have certainly experienced their first big snow storm this weekend. Last night we went to bed to a light dusting of snow, and this morning this is what we woke up to:
You probably can't tell but that is 18 inches of snow...18!!
Poor little Savannah- the snow was nearly over her head. She wasn't sure what to do!

Jono and I decided to take the babies for a short walk (stress on the word "short" considering it was freezing and the snow was blowing sideways). Here is Jono carrying Emma Kate in her little baby Bjorn- so cute :)

Another shot from our front door- beautiful!

The snow definitely got us even more in the Christmas spirit. Not sure when we will dig out of this but I'm taking advantage of it and enjoying the beautiful winter wonderland outside my front door!

  1. That is beautiful!!! The snow is the one thing I miss about winter down here. And I totally remember that blizzard in 96...we were out for a week in January and then again in Feb!
    Stay warm and Merry Christmas!

  2. Great photos! Love the one of Jono and Emma Kate! Did Savannah enjoy the snow in spite of its being over her head?!?! She looks so cute.
