Blizzard of 2009

If you grew up somewhere where snow comes each winter, you can probably pinpoint the year when a big blizzard blew threw. I remember the storm of '96 when we were out of a school for a whole week due to several feet of snow. While I know Emma Kate and Jackson won't remember it, they have certainly experienced their first big snow storm this weekend. Last night we went to bed to a light dusting of snow, and this morning this is what we woke up to:
You probably can't tell but that is 18 inches of snow...18!!
Poor little Savannah- the snow was nearly over her head. She wasn't sure what to do!

Jono and I decided to take the babies for a short walk (stress on the word "short" considering it was freezing and the snow was blowing sideways). Here is Jono carrying Emma Kate in her little baby Bjorn- so cute :)

Another shot from our front door- beautiful!

The snow definitely got us even more in the Christmas spirit. Not sure when we will dig out of this but I'm taking advantage of it and enjoying the beautiful winter wonderland outside my front door!

Jackson's new trick!

Ok...so it's not really a new trick (as he has been doing this since birth) but I finally captured Jackson rolling over on video. Check it out...

And of course I couldn't leave Emma Kate out!! She hasn't rolled over yet but she sure is cute during tummy time :) Please note Jono making silly sounds in the background- how sweet!

Can't believe Christmas is around the corner. We have been given the best gift this year in the birth of our babies. We can't wait to spend time with family, especially my sister and her family who will be traveling from Nashville to visit. Isn't Christmas the best with kiddos?

Speaking of my sister, check out her awesome blog: www.stylechronicle.blogspot.com. She just posted some wonderful ideas for Christmas gifts.

Let it Snow!

Jackson and Emma Kate had their first experience in the snow this past weekend- how fun! It snowed a few inches in Virginia and we enjoyed hot cocoa, a warm fire, and cozying up on the couch. The snow certainly got us in the Christmas spirit!

Trying Something New

So I've decided to take the plunge and start a blog. People kept asking me if I had started one since the twins were born and honestly, I didn't think I had the time, energy or creativity to put a blog together. Now that my babies are sleeping through the night and on more of a schedule, I feel like a new woman! Blogging might just end up being a great outlet for me. We'll see how it goes...off to feed the babes!
